I’m a true New Yorker, born and raised in the borough of Brooklyn.
A few years after finishing college I moved to Manhattan where I began to fulfill my dream of becoming a photographer. I slowly built a career and for over 40 years I’ve specialized in corporate, non-profit, editorial, and portrait photography.
I’m beginning to take on fewer assignments, as I want to spend more time photographing the subjects I’m passionate about.
I’ve traveled to places, such as Italy, France, and Greece. but New York is still the place that gets into my soul. I never get tired of photographing my city.
I love taking the subway early in the morning to explore and photograph all the diverse neighborhoods that New York has to offer. Many times, I don’t return home until the last bit of daylight has disappeared.
Photographing cityscapes, especially the city’s iconic wooden water towers, has become a favorite subject of mine. I’ve collected several hundred images of these uniquely, iconic New York structures, but I find that they are getting more difficult to find, due to demolishing of the older building to be replaced by towering skyscrapers.
I always have a camera with me, never knowing what I will want to photograph next.
I love shapes and shadows in my images but it is the right light that is a major factor in creating my art.
